Confined space standby people who never leave the entry.

Standby attendants with a rescue tripod and gas detector at a confined space entry

Every confined space entry needs a standby person outside the space, watching the entrants and ready to raise the alarm and start the rescue plan. That is all our standby people do while the entry is open.

Outside the space, in contact the whole time.

We work to your confined space entry permit and rescue plan, and confirm communication, gas monitoring and rescue equipment before anyone enters.

How pricing works

Quotes are itemised by shift rate, travel, vehicle and equipment, and reporting. Gas detectors and rescue equipment can be supplied and are listed separately.

Send the site location, the work program, the plant on site, your preferred dates and any permit or network operator conditions. We confirm scope, availability and price before work is booked.

Tickets and competencies

Each shift is filled by personnel holding the tickets and competencies the task requires in that state, such as an endorsed spotter or safety observer course, general construction induction, first aid and CPR, and confined space, gas test or heights units where the work calls for them. Copies are supplied with the quote or before mobilisation on request.

Frequently asked questions

Can the standby person enter the space to rescue someone?

Only if your rescue plan provides for it and they are trained and equipped to do so. Our standby people follow the rescue plan, which usually means non-entry rescue first and calling emergency services.

Do you issue the entry permit?

No. The permit is issued by your site. Our standby people check it before entry and work to its conditions.

Do you supply gas detectors?

Yes, on request. Detectors are bump tested and calibrated.
