Ground standby for EWPs, scaffolds and roof work.

When someone is working at height, a person on the ground who knows the emergency lowering controls and the rescue plan can make all the difference. Our standby people watch the platform, keep the area below clear and act fast if something goes wrong.

How pricing works
Quotes are itemised by shift rate, travel, vehicle and equipment, and reporting. Rates are set per standby person per shift.
Send the site location, the work program, the plant on site, your preferred dates and any permit or network operator conditions. We confirm scope, availability and price before work is booked.
Tickets and competencies
Each shift is filled by personnel holding the tickets and competencies the task requires in that state, such as an endorsed spotter or safety observer course, general construction induction, first aid and CPR, and confined space, gas test or heights units where the work calls for them. Copies are supplied with the quote or before mobilisation on request.
Frequently asked questions
Is a ground observer required for EWP work?
Many site rules and risk assessments require one, especially near powerlines or where a suspended worker would need fast rescue. Your SWMS sets the requirement for your job.
Can your standby people operate the EWP?
They are trained in the emergency lowering controls for rescue only. Normal operation stays with the licensed or trained operator.
Can you cover scaffold work?
Yes, for drop zones and rescue standby. Scaffold erection near powerlines needs the asset owner's involvement, and a spotter on its own is not enough.
